LONG POND, NL – Sailing in Newfoundland. Its an island, all its commerce, trade and migration is dependent on the ocean since the 1600s so sailing is a natural activity in Newfoundland. Most Newfoundlanders outside of St. John’s grew up in, on and around boats.  Punts, trap skiffs, dories, long liners, schooners, packet ships are the roots of recreational sailing and boating in Newfoundland and Labrador today.

You will find yacht clubs, marinas and small boat harbours everywhere.
